It\u2019s Minnesota in April – which means it\u2019s either 80\u00b0 with mosquitos, or it\u2019s 10\u00b0 with snow on the ground. This year, it\u2019s the latter, which didn\u2019t stop the enthusiasts of Minnesota from coming out to the first Cars & Coffee of the season. When I tell people that Minnesota has the largest Cars & Coffee<\/a> in the country (3,000 to 4,000 cars and upwards of 25,000 people on the non-frozen days), I always get strange looks as people from across the globe see Minnesota either as cabin country, the Land of 10,000 Lakes or a perpetual frozen wasteland. However, there is a well-established car community here in the frozen north. The attendance numbers are staggering, but the event runs smoothly thanks to an army of volunteers, and the event is free due to an amazing collection of sponsors.<\/p>\n

April\u2019s Cars & Coffee brought out the hearty cars and people. Bundled up and drinking coffee to stay warm more than to stay awake. Wearing snowmobile suits, blankets and long underwear, they came out for the cars.<\/p>\n

The selection of cars runs the gamut from the daily drivers to muscle cars to exotic supercars. One of my favorite cars there was an old Plymouth Fury III on air suspension – this car just screamed cruiser. The other was a \u201953 Chevy that looked like it had just been dragged out from behind the barn. On the newer end, it\u2019s hard to miss the bright orange McLaren MP4-12C.<\/p>\n

As always, Dodge\/\/SRT\u00ae<\/sup> was well represented at the show with both brand-new Chargers<\/a> and Challengers<\/a>, along with a Dart, an SRT4 Neon, and even a Gen IV Viper!<\/p>\n

Being the curator of the best Scat Pack pictures on Instagram, I had to seek them out. I was able to find two Scats this day, and both of them were Chargers.<\/p>\n

After a long winter, the gearheads wanted out of their houses and garages to show off what they\u2019ve been working on. The April Cars & Coffee can be seen as the unofficial kick-off to the summer car culture season. A season that is jam-packed with awesome events and shows for the car lovers. The summer brings big events to our doorsteps, like Back to the 50s and Street Machines, both held at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Back to the 50s is the bigger of the two, bringing over 10,000 registered cars. Minnesota is also home to one of the oldest and largest all-Mopar\u00ae<\/sub> gatherings in the Upper Midwest, Mopars In The Park<\/a>, hosted by Midwest Mopars.<\/p>\n

This (very) cold April morning had a great turnout, and I\u2019m super-excited for May. I\u2019ll report back with how Dodge represents next month. Stay tuned!<\/p>\n
