As part of the overall $40,000 purse, the largest cash purse ever offered at \u201cRoadkill Nights Powered by Dodge,\u201d an additional $10,000 will be awarded to the celebrity showdown race winner\u2019s charity of choice.<\/p>\n<p>Both drag racing classes will have the same payout structure with $15,000 as the total purse per class:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winner \u2013 $5,000<\/li>\n<li>Runner Up \u2013 $1,500<\/li>\n<li>Semi Finalists \u2013 $750 (2 payouts)<\/li>\n<li>Quarter Finalists \u2013 $500 (4 payouts)<\/li>\n<li>Fastest Dodge-powered vehicle \u2013&nbsp;$5,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cLast year, more than 40,000 enthusiasts celebrated performance car culture at \u2018Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge\u2019 in an epic kick off to a week of cruising events,\u201d said Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Car Brands \u2013 Dodge\/\/SRT, Chrysler, and FIAT, FCA &#8211; North America. \u201cWith drag racing, thrill rides and music, Roadkill Nights gets people on to a track run by professionals, so they can really show how their hot rods perform in a more controlled environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Doubling the Dodge Thrill Ride experiences, the 707-horsepower Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat models will be in two locations within the M1 Concourse this year. With a major shot of adrenaline, drifting is back shredding tires on the M1 Concourse skid pad. The other location will again be on the north loop of the M1 track, with the Dodge SRT Hellcat vehicles reaching hair-raising speeds and demonstrating their power.<\/p>\n<p>There also will be more celebrities participating in showdown races and the addition of freestyle motocross exhibitions at the 2018 event. Leah Pritchett in her Dodge\/Mopar Top Fuel Dragster and Matt Hagan in his Dodge Charger Funny Car will once again \u201clight \u2018em up\u201d on Woodard Avenue. Other returning fan favorites include the high-octane virtual head-to-head racing in Dodge Challenger SRT Demon simulators; show \u2018n\u2019 shine; dyno testing; \u201cRoadkill\u201d stunts; flamethrower and wheelstander exhibitions; family friendly kidszone activities; and an eclectic array of food truck offerings.<\/p>\n<p>The drag racing will include a celebrity showdown with Motor Trend\u2019s hugely popular series \u201cRoadkill\u201d co-hosts David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan. Chris Jacobs of Velocity\u2019s \u201cBarrett-Jackson Live\u201d will emcee the activities, while Brian Lohnes of Motor Trend\u2019s \u201cPut Up or Shut Up\u201d will emcee the drag races. Additional industry celebrity attendees include Richard Rawlings of Discovery\u2019s \u201cFast n\u2019 Loud,\u201d Steve Magnante of Velocity\u2019s \u201cBarrett-Jackson Live,\u201d Cristy Lee of \u201cBarrett-Jackson Live\u201d and \u201cAll Girls Garage,\u201d and Bill Goldberg and Matt D\u2019Andria from the automotive podcast \u201cCarCast with Adam Carolla.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRoadkill Nights not only brings \u2018Roadkill\u2019 to life, but also allows our fans to appreciate firsthand the thrill of top-speed drag racing,\u201d Freiburger said. \u201cGoing four years strong, the event has something for everyone. Whether you\u2019re a drag racer, car enthusiast or looking for a fun day to spend with family, Roadkill Nights promises a dynamic experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gates are open for \u201cRoadkill Nights Powered by Dodge\u201d from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., with Dodge Thrill Rides taking place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and drag racing from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Roadkill Nights Registration Information<\/strong><br \/>\nGeneral admission to the event is $10 per person \u2014 $5 per person for Pontiac residents ($5 price available on-site only).
