{"id":20448,"date":"2018-12-03T10:30:39","date_gmt":"2018-12-03T15:30:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dodgegarage.com\/news-api\/?p=20448"},"modified":"2024-03-25T11:24:42","modified_gmt":"2024-03-25T15:24:42","slug":"worth-the-wait","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/owners-clubs\/2018\/12\/worth-the-wait.html","title":{"rendered":"Worth the Wait"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Charles Schultz&#8217;s &#8217;73 Duster Finally Comes Full Circle<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Back in 1980, when Charles Schultz built his first 1973 Duster, he never imagined selling it.&nbsp;But then, as Schultz put it, &#8220;Life happened.&#8221;&nbsp;And speed, power and performance took a backseat to the priorities of marriage, kids and daily responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Until 2016.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s when Schultz came across a 1973 Duster, complete with 100,000 miles, a blown engine and its share of bumps and bruises. &#8220;I was up for a restoration challenge,&#8221; said Schultz, &#8220;and ready to make this car a racecar.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After almost 40 years since selling his original 1973 Duster, and with significantly fewer daily responsibilities, Schultz didn&#8217;t hesitate to buy the car, trailer it home and get to work.
