There\u2019s a reason Dodge has a great\nrelationship with Mecum auctions; they bring passionate car people together at\nevery event, and Harrisburg was no different. Our view for this auction is exceptional: The cars up for bid literally\nroll right past our inside display on their way to the block, giving us a front\nrow view. As those cars made it past, we\nfound ourselves dreaming about which ones we\u2019d like to put in our personal\ngarages. Here are some that made us turn\nour heads\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1964 Dodge 330 HEMI\u00ae<\/sup> Charger \u201cThe First Funny Car\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honestly, I\u2019m flat-out shocked by this\none. In my preview story, I pointed this\ncar out. The excitement around it was\nHUGE. This is a serious piece of drag\nracing history: Dick Landy\u2019s first altered wheelbase drag car, the machine that\nliterally coined the term \u201cFunny Car.\u201d Mecum\u2019s experts valued it as between $500,000 and $600,000 dollars and\nno one seemed to think that was an outrageous number. But when it rolled across the block at No\nReserve, the car made it to $220,000…and that was where it sold.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in the day of the SRT\u00ae<\/sup> Track Experience,\nthe Magnum SRT was one of our favorite weapons – with its great balance and big\nHEMI\u00ae<\/sup> engine power, we could throw it around a road course in ways that shocked most\npeople. Add in the fact that it\u2019s a\nstation wagon and folks spent a lot of time picking their jaws up off the\nground at the car\u2019s capabilities. This\nparticular one only has 67,000 miles on it and sold for an easy $22,000,\nproving you don\u2019t have to break the bank to get a modern-day hot rod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1970 Plymouth Superbird, Richard Petty NASCAR Racecar<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of those lots that has you\nwondering what the reserve must have been…because it appeared to be on course\nto be the biggest seller of the auction. The room was electric when this stunning, race-winning monster crossed\nthe block. NASCAR legend Richard Petty\nhimself was on hand over the weekend, adding to the excitement. Bids went up fast, crossing the $1,000,000\nmark, then the $2,000,000 point\u2026$3,000,000 and counting…on up to\n$3,500,000…but that wasn\u2019t enough to sell this iconic Mopar\u00ae<\/sub> vehicle. The Bid Goes On and if you\u2019d like to own it,\nreach out to the Mecum folks to make it yours!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1978 Dodge D-100 Pickup Truck<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here we go again\u2026  This is the fourth time in the past year that\nthis truck has come through an auction. It has sold twice; the other two times, it\u2019s not found a buyer. It really is a sharp machine and would be a\nfantastic weekend cruiser. Honestly, I\u2019d\ndrive this! In a past auction, it was\nlisted as a $40,000 restoration, but this time, it reached a high bid of $17,500 and did not sell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
