Churchill Downs<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The cliche of \u201ca different kind of horsepower\u201d\nis totally accurate here; Churchill Downs is the home of the Kentucky Derby,\nthe world\u2019s most famous horse race. And\nwhile that event is just once per year, you can check out the racing this\nweekend (they\u2019re racing Friday, Saturday and Sunday). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Speed Art Museum<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a website all about cars, so I HAD to\nmention \u201cThe Speed.\u201d However, this is\nnamed after a famous Louisville businessman and philanthropist, James Speed,\nand has nothing to do with vehicles.\nThat said, it\u2019s the top art museum in Kentucky and worth a side trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How about food? You can\u2019t go to Louisville without trying a Hot Brown<\/a>! Okay, to the uninitiated, it looks like a simple open-faced turkey sandwich, but it\u2019s more than that … it\u2019s become part of Louisville culture. Like pizza in Chicago or a coney dog in Detroit, lots of places serve a good Hot Brown. Just make sure you have one!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now, cars \u2026 after all, that\u2019s why we\u2019re here!\nMecum Louisville is packed and these are a few we\u2019re watching closely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 1973 Dodge Charger<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n I grew up in Detroit and my mom had a pale\nblue \u201973 Charger she bought brand new; 318\/automatic\/AM radio. Nothing special, but to me, the curves of\nthose front fenders were sexy before I knew what sexy was. This is NOT that car! This Charger is one of only eight ever built\nwith a 340 and a 4-speed manual. It\nincludes the original broadcast sheet and has only 67,000 original miles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2001 Chrysler Prowler Mulholland Edition<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n When the Plymouth brand closed its doors, production\nof the hand-built Prowler shifted underneath the Chrysler banner. (Little-known\nfact: the Prowler was built in the Connor Avenue Assembly Plant, the same\nfacility where the Viper was built.) This\nMulholland Edition is painted in dark blue and has just 34 original miles on\nit. The original window sticker is still\nattached to the windshield. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT-8\u00ae<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ryan Friedlinghaus has built quite the empire\nat West Coast Customs … from the early days of Pimp My Ride<\/i> to some of the\ncraziest customs ever built, WCC does work that gets recognized. This 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 has the full\nWest Coast job – from the stance to the paint and supercharged power under the\nhood.
