If you are a car enthusiast, especially a muscle car enthusiast, you know the ’70s were the pinnacle years for the muscle car era. 1970 was an amazing year where the average income was $9,400 and a gallon of gas cost a mere $0.36. The ’70s were also a time of badass muscle cars and Dodge knocked it out of the park with their star muscle car, the Dodge Challenger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

October 22nd – October 24th is Barrett-Jackson’s Fall Auction<\/a> and there is a beautiful 1970 Dodge Challenger Custom Hardtop (Lot #470)<\/a> crossing the auction block at no reserve. This 1970 Challenger has been restored, but started life with a 340ci V8 engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. For improved performance, it has been upgraded with a period-correct 426ci Chrysler HEMI\u00ae<\/sup> V8 engine, casting number date: 01\/19\/70, with dual 4-barrel carburetors, power steering and a new high-performance center-forced clutch assembly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
