He eventually found a chassis and built his first project car.&nbsp;That was 30-some years ago &#8230; today, he\u2019s at the Mecum auction in Kissimmee with his latest ride, and it\u2019s a winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1887\" height=\"785\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dodgegarage.com\/news-api\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Destined-to-Build-Muscle_IMG006.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Destined-to-Build-Muscle_IMG006.png 1887w, https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Destined-to-Build-Muscle_IMG006-576x240.png 576w, https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Destined-to-Build-Muscle_IMG006-768x319.png 768w, https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Destined-to-Build-Muscle_IMG006-992x413.png 992w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1887px) 100vw, 1887px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Dwight and his sons are the muscle behind Mowear Motorsports, a business that began from their personal passion. \u201cThe boys have learned so much,\u201d he says of his 22- and 24-year-old sons. The work they\u2019re doing is top notch as you can see by their 1968 Dodge Charger restomod. \u201cIf it\u2019s numbers matching, always keep it numbers matching,\u201d says Dwight.&nbsp;\u201cThis is a real \u201868 R\/T,\u201d but it\u2019s gone way beyond stock in this project. \u201cYou\u2019ll appreciate the engine story; it came out of a 2019 Challenger SRT<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Hellcat Redeye. The owner found a 1,400-horsepower engine to put in his car so he sold me this one.&nbsp;I even got to ride in it before the motor was pulled out.\u201d&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1401\" height=\"788\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dodgegarage.com\/news-api\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Destined-to-Build-Muscle_IMG003.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Destined-to-Build-Muscle_IMG003.png 1401w, https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Destined-to-Build-Muscle_IMG003-576x324.png 576w, https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Destined-to-Build-Muscle_IMG003-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Destined-to-Build-Muscle_IMG003-992x558.png 992w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1401px) 100vw, 1401px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Mechanically, this Charger is all new; from the 797-horsepower SRT Hellcat Redeye engine to the 8-speed transmission, Wilwood brakes, Ridetech suspension, custom driveshaft and Vintage Air.&nbsp;But Dwight likes to point out that if you just looked at the car from the exterior, you wouldn\u2019t know what\u2019s lurking beneath the hood.&nbsp;&#8220;I had a guy walk up yesterday and said &#8216;This is the nicest car I\u2019ve seen here!&#8217;&nbsp;Of course, I disagree.
