Matt\nHagan proved to be the most consistent Funny Car driver Sunday at the In-N-Out\nPomona Dragstrip when he drove the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) Haas Dodge Charger\nSRT\u00ae<\/sup> Hellcat to victory in the NHRA Lucas Oil Winternationals, the third race of\nthe 21-event NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hagan,\nwinner of the season opener at Gainesville, FL, came from his tenth starting\nposition to clock runs of 3.929, 3.950, 3.955 and 3.967 in defeating defending\nFunny Car World Champion Ron Capps in the final round. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nvictory was Hagan\u2019s fourth Winternationals title and 45th<\/sup> NHRA\ncareer triumph, currently ranking fourth all-time Funny Car wins behind John\nForce, Capps and Robert Hight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hagan\u2019s\nwin moved the Dodge\/\/SRT Mopar\u00ae<\/sub> racer to the top of the current NHRA Funny Car\npoint standings with 277 to Capps\u2019 251 as the NHRA Camping World tour heads to\nthe Four-Wide Nationals on April 14-16 in Las Vegas, NV. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hagan gave the credit for the\nwin to his TSR crew after struggling a bit in qualifying, but he knew the car\ncould be a factor in eliminations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a\nwonderful weekend,\u201d said Hagan. \u201cThe right lane was giving us a tough time all\nweekend and it was a handful. For Dickie Venable (crew chief), Mike Knudsen\n(co-crew chief), Alex Conaway (car chief) and all of the guys wrenching on my car,\nI\u2019m so thankful for them. They always find a way to put a great race car\nunderneath me. I try to rise to the occasion when I can and turn on the win\nlights. It\u2019s a great day when you can move up from being the No. 10 qualifier\nand win the race.  I\u2019m always glad to have Dickie in our corner. At the\nend of the day, I\u2019m really proud of our guys.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leah Pruett,\nHagan\u2019s TSR teammate in the Top Fuel category, qualified third in the Rinnai\ndragster Saturday, but lost in the first round of eliminations Sunday at the\nPomona Dragstrip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In qualifying,\nCruz Pedregon, recent Pomona Dragstrip winner in November at the NHRA World\nFinals, continued his strong performance by capturing the Top Qualifier Award\nin the Snap-On Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat with a 3.865 run. Pedregon advanced to\nthe second round in eliminations, as did young Alex Laughlin the Jim Dunn \u201cMoon\nEyes\u201d Dodge Charger SRT Hellcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
