Todd, Hagan came up on the losing end with 3.999\nto Todd\u2019s 3.965. Todd went on to win the Funny Car class Sunday at Sonoma. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe big\ntakeaway from the weekend is that we were able to maintain number one in the\npoint standings and extend the lead on (Ron) Capps,\u201d said Hagan. \u201c We had a\ngood car and were making adjustments to it as it got hotter and hotter. Overall,\nI think the Western Swing was still successful. The win in Denver was big for\nus and Dodge, and now making it to the semifinals here, we walk away with a\ngood attitude and the points lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith three\nraces to go before the Countdown, hopefully everyone else is running out of\nraces to catch us. We still need to add more of a cushion (in points). There\nare no easy draws nowadays. Everyone is so tough. You have to bring it every\ntime and bring a little more than you think you have to. It takes that every\ntime to turn on a win light.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hagan\u2019s TSR\nteammate, Leah Pruett, drove her Rayce Rudeen Foundation Dodge\/\/SRT dragster to\na tough first round loss with an extremely close finish to former NHRA World\nChampion Shawn Langdon, who won by a slim 0.0246 seconds holeshot advantage and\na 3.755 to Pruett\u2019s 3.746.&nbsp; .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1332\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dodgegarage.com\/news-api\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Pruett-burnout-at-Sonoma-2023.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-71902\" srcset=\"https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Pruett-burnout-at-Sonoma-2023.jpg 2000w, https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Pruett-burnout-at-Sonoma-2023-576x384.jpg 576w, https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Pruett-burnout-at-Sonoma-2023-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/test.api.dodgegarage.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Pruett-burnout-at-Sonoma-2023-992x661.jpg 992w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2000px) 100vw, 2000px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Pruett remains\nin the top-5 in the current NHRA Camping World Top Fuel points standings as she\nseeks a solid position with three races on the NHRA schedule before the\n\u201cCountdown\u201d for the Championship begins Sept. 14-17 in the Pep Boys NHRA\nNationals at Reading, Pa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt stings losing on a\nholeshot,\u201d said Pruett. \u201cI gave it my absolute all and gave our Rayce Rudeen\nFoundation dragster the best chance it had. Both lanes are great. For my crew\nchiefs, they\u2019re working really hard to get this car right and I\u2019m working hard\nat getting me right. A driver should have confidence in their crew chiefs and\nNeal Strausbaugh (crew chief) and Mike Domagala (co-crew chief) have worked\nvery hard. Conditions are tough in the heat on race day. They\u2019ve done a\nphenomenal job. I\u2019m blessed to be able to race for them. We\u2019ll be ready for\nTopeka now.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Menards\nNHRA Nationals at Heartland Motorsports Park will have nitro qualifying\nbeginning on Friday, Aug. 11, at 8 p.m. CDT followed by two qualifying rounds\non Saturday, Aug. 12, at 3 p.m. CDT and 5:30 p.m. CDT.
