Dodge added an array of special options for the 2023 model\nyear and the Last Call program, but the first offering of a Dodge Challenger\nconvertible may have been the most anticipated and the most unique. The\nautomaker teamed up with Drop Top Customs, a company known for transforming modern\nDodge Challengers into convertibles for years, to offer a seamless\nfactory-option-style process for the topless muscle car. Most notably, even the\n807-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT\u00ae<\/sup> Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak can be ordered\nwith the convertible top, making for one of the most powerful OEM-offered drop\ntop road cars in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the modern Dodge Challenger was introduced for the 2006\nmodel year, there have been fans of the brand who wished that a convertible was\navailable. As part of the Last Call program, Dodge\nboss Tim Kuniskis and his team brought that open-air muscle car to life\nfor one model year, making it a hot item for collectors.<\/p>\n\n\n

Two of those collectors are Pat and Linda Velasco, who own the gorgeous F8 Green 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak Widebody Convertible shown here. Many people know Pat Velasco as the owner of Radford Racing School in Arizona, which relies on Dodge products in just about every portion of their high-performance driving education program. The Velascos\u2019 new Challenger convertible has been added to the family collection, which also includes a 1969 Dodge Charger 500 with a 426 HEMI\u00ae<\/sup> engine, a 1947 Dodge Power Wagon, a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner A12, a 1971 Plymouth HEMI ‘Cuda and a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon learning that Pat and Linda Velasco had a new 2023 Dodge\nChallenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak Convertible on order, we reached out\nfor some information on their new muscle car and Linda was quick to answer all\nof our questions. We learned that this is Linda\u2019s car, and while it was ordered\nfor its collectible nature, she does plan to drive it from time to time. They\nordered the Challenger convertible based on the fact that it would be rare and\nunique, with a relatively small number of topless examples produced of the\n\u201ciconic American muscle car\u201d \u2013 especially in 807-horsepower Redeye form.<\/p>\n\n\n

As you can see, this 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak Widebody Convertible is F8 Green with a tan convertible top, 20-inch Lightweight Low-Gloss wheels wrapped in all-season performance tires and black Brembo brake calipers. The tan top retracts with the push of a button and is fully automatic.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Velasco family has loads of HEMI horsepower in their stable, so the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak Widebody Convertible will fit in nicely, but it isn\u2019t the only Last Call car destined for this collection. They also have a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 on order. That 1,025-horsepower muscle car will be painted Destroyer Grey (to match their 2018 SRT Demon) with carbon fiber wheels, the sunroof, Laguna leather-and-Alcantara seating surfaces and Demonic Red seat belts.
