These modifications produce a whopping 1,700bhp, hence the name. The project is one of the first from a new department called Hennessey Special Operations (HSO), focused on building ultra-exclusive, high-horsepower vehicles. HSO plans to produce 15 to 20 vehicles annually, with plans for only 12 of the Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo to be produced. The modification involves blueprinting the existing 6.2-litre V8, creating a bespoke twin-turbo powertrain with motorsports-spec components, and is a costly upgrade.
