Walking the show saw a good selection of all things Mopar\u00ae<\/sub><\/strong> and then a visit to the Mopar, Jeep\u00ae<\/sub><\/strong> and Direct Connection exhibit revealed a big display of Mopar crate engines, Direct Connection parts and pieces, plus a splash of cool Mopar-themed vehicles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The buzz of the show was vivid!<\/p>\n\n\n\n There’s only one #1 NHRA drag racer of all time and that is Don “Big Daddy” Garlits! He was there shooting the breeze and signing books, a real icon of the sport and a blast to listen to!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mopar E-body fans rejoiced when the Ring Bros rolled into SEMA with their latest beauty: 807-hp Pink \u2019Cuda that took 5,600 hours to create in their Wisconsin shop. 1.5-inch extended wheelbase was just one of the tricks they gave it during construction. Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis included in the mods. Sweet!<\/p>\n\n\n\n While there was some convention center remodeling taking place at the main entrance area, that didn’t change anything in terms of cool cars displayed everywhere as usual! The SEMA Art Walk exhibit was in a new place; however, if you’re a serious SEMA visitor, you found it, and it was again filled with some of the Mopar-related unique automotive artwork and “man cave” wall hangings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A wide variety of unique items featuring the Mopar and Chrysler logos were in the mix, SEMA has it all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Included in the art available inside the Art Walk were these two licensed HEMI\u00ae<\/sup> E-body “Rat Fink” art pieces done by Ed Roth back in the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Who better to show us the Meguiar’s display car than Barry Meguiar himself! It’s a radical yet clean 1959 Chrysler 300 E featuring 1,000HP 6.2L SRT\u00ae<\/sup> Hellcat HEMI, Stage 2 Tremec T56 6-speed trans, one-off Roadster Shop chassis and carbon fiber wheels. 8,000-hour build! A big brute with modernized ingredients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The National Hot Rod Association had a booth and conducted interviews throughout the event. NHRA and the SEMA Show go back to the genesis of the trade organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Featured front and center at the Holley Performance Brands exhibit was this large image of Tony Stewart doing a burnout from the U.S. Nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chico Kodama and the Mooneyes booth, always located at the very front of the exhibit hall because Moon had been one of the pioneer SEMA Show exhibitors from the very start!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Brett and Darinda Sutton came all the way from Florida with their 1974 “Orange Krate” Dodge Maxi-Van that features unreal, super-detailed airbrushing on both sides! Retro vans are cool and there’s a growing following these days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Talented Las Vegas-based artist Larisa Roshina shows some of the latest work from her studio: 1970 Don Prudhomme Hot Wheels \u2019Cuda Funny Car, 1973 Tom McEwen English Leather \/ NAVY Duster Funny Car!<\/p>\n\n\n And she also did a “Big Daddy Swamp Rat” early dragster rendering honoring Don Garlits!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mother’s Wax had a very fitting “The Passing of a Legend” tribute to the recently passed hot rodding legend George Poteet with this Blowfish Barracuda salt flats car … it had run over 300 mph five times with the best exit speed of 319.2 mph!
